thank you for volunteering

Thank you for Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in coaching for Westside Soccer Club. As a volunteer run organization, we rely on volunteers like you coaching our teams.

Below are instructions to complete all steps necessary to coach a WSC team. Please use your full, legal name in all steps as well as the same email address. If you have previously registered as a coach, please use the same email address. If you cannot remember which email address you used, please email the office at westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

First - please register for the season. If you are coaching your child, it is recommended to register the child first, then yourself as coach during the same transaction. If you register separately, you may be prompted to link to your child’s registration.

If you did not coach Fall 2021 but did coach Spring 2022, your SafeSport and Concussion certificates may still be valid. Look for confirmation during the registration process. Trainings competed after February 1, 2022 will be valid for Fall 2022.

Second - please make sure your SafeSport training is current. This needs to be completed once per year, after February 1. Training completed after February 1, 2022 will be valid through August 31, 2023.

If you have previously done the NFHS - Protecting Students from Abuse training, you will need to do the full 90 minute official SafeSport training. If you have previously done the full official SafeSport training, you will complete the 20 minute refresher.

SafeSport has transitioned to a new training platform. Please see these updated login instructions: SafeSport Training Instructions

Email the office at westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com for the SafeSport link.

Once you have successfully logged in/created your account, click on Catalog to see available courses. If you have not yet completed the initial 90 minute course, please complete "SafeSport Trained - U.S. Soccer Federation". If you have already completed the initial 90 minute course, please complete one of the "Refresher" courses.

Please download email the certificate to westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

Third - please make sure your concussion training is current. This is still done through NFHS. Concussion training must be completed once per year, after February 1. Training completed after February 1, 2022 will be valid through August 31, 2023.

Please go to: https://nfhslearn.com/

If you have previously completed concussion training, you can simply "Order" the "Concussion in Sports" course you did last time. If this is your first time, please search for "Concussion in Sports - Oregon" under courses. Once you have completed the entire training (including the course survey), your certificate will be available for download.

Please download and email the certificate to westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.

Fourth - register through OYSA and submit a background check. We will send regular emails to our registered coaches with the link to register through OYSA. You may also email the office for the link.

If you have any questions during the registration process, please contact westsidesoccerinfo@gmail.com.
